Flickr Fashion Inspiration: Seeing Stripes

Just a little inspiration via Flickr on this beautiful Saturday. I am loving how these ladies styled their striped tops. I am especially digging the stripes with the floral skirt, so cute!

OOTD: Comfort is Key

This is actually my outfit from Thursday since I just wore old clothes today to work to clean up my office. Thursday was a post planning day at school so I could dress down somewhat. I just adore this little sweater with the cute bow on it and you can't beat a comfy denim skirt! I actually got these sandals from a local store but Aerosoles has ones that are almost identical.

Copycat: Anthro vs. Target

As much as I love Anthropologie, sometimes their prices are just ridiculous. I mean $58 for a sheer tank top! Really! So I spotted this copycat version at Target a few weeks ago. It has the same cute little pocket on the front and the racer back design. Now obviously, the material isn't as good of quality at Target vs. Anthro and the colors differ somewhat but I still think the Target version is cute. I actually tried it on awhile back and liked it but they didn't have my size available. Also, my Target has had them on the sale rack lately for $7.00! You can't beat that.

OOTD: School's Out for Summer

This is my go-to dress when I want to be comfortable; I have worn it to death. It's starting to fade and I have fixed a seam or two more than once but I just love it so much I will probably wear it until it literally falls apart. Today was the last day of school for the kiddies but Summer Camp starts next week so we really get no break at all.
Dress: Target
Tank: Old Navy
Necklace: Target
Shoes: Steinmart

Please ignore the tiny dog hairs all over my floor in this pic. I have three dogs and even when I vacuum, 10 seconds later there is more hair. Argh!

This is the first time that I have worn these shoes and I think after a little breaking in they will be great. I thought they were really sexy looking! (My co-worker pointed this out to me today too and she said they showed off my calf muscles! Yeah!) Plus, I love how they don't have a very high heel, we have very old, uneven sidewalks at school and lots of mulch so that combo isn't to friendly on heels. (I speak from experience, I have sunk a heel into the mulch before and almost broken an ankle. Not pretty in front of oodles of children who are not afraid to laugh at you.)

This week in Mommyland....

Yes, she looks adorable here sniffing that fake flower but what you can't see is that lurking underneath is a nap-fighting little girl. Sydney has decided this week that she is NOT napping! It has made for some very grouchy afternoons (for her & me) lately. Her Daddy will call me in the afternoon and I tell him about how she won't sleep (but is tired) and how she's grumpy and as soon as he gets home she's all smiles and giggles. Makes me look like a liar! Believe me, I'm not making it all up. As I write this she is rolling around on the floor with her blanket but if I tried to lay her down, she would throw a fit so I have just decided to go with the flow on this one. Any advice from other Mommies of toddlers out there? Please!

OOTD: Red, White & Vappu

I feel very patriotic today in my red, white and blue ensemble. I LOVE this dress, it's the Vappu Dress from Anthropologie and it is so comfortable and I can imagine so many ways to wear it. Sorry it's all wrinkly, this was at the end of my work day. The vintage pin is the same one that's in my profile picture, I picked it up at a festival this year. I am always on the lookout for vintage metal pins.

OOTD: Flower Power

It's the last week of school! The kids get out Wednesday but I still have to work all summer but at least it will be quieter. (Fingers crossed!) I love this dress/tunic, it is super comfy and lightweight for the warm weather. I actually bought this when I was pregnant because it's quite billowy and roomy but I can still wear it now since I paired it with a belt. I seriously told myself I would never wear leggings but when I was pregnant there became a point where there was no other choice and my admiration for them grew from there. Plus, many dresses nowadays are so flippin' short that you have to wear something or your tush will be hanging out!
Dress/Tunic: Target
Leggings: Target
Belt: American Eagle
Shoes: Ross (brand has faded off since I wear them to death)
Bracelet: vintage (my Mom's from the 70's)

I noticed that my dog Rita snuck into the picture today, she's such a ham!
