This week in Mommyland....

This is a very exciting and emotional week in Mommyland.....my baby girl started Montessori School today. Since I was in college, I knew that someday my child would (hopefully) attend a Montessori School because I absolutely, wholeheartedly believe in the philosophy and method. So when I started working at a Montessori School 5 years ago I always had in the back of my mind that my child will be here one day and get to have this amazing educational experience.

I'm so happy that day was today. I was so excited and nervous the whole day. Luckily, since I work at the school she's attending, the teachers let me know how she was doing throughout the day. Her only issue was that she didn't take a very long nap and as a result was a little fussy. When I picked her up she was happily playing on the playground. She ran over to me sweaty, smiling and covered in sand from the sandbox. I knew that she had had a good day.

Isn't she adorable in her school uniform?

I bought this Kitty Cat backpack for her at Old Navy when she was about 6 months old. I just thought it was to cute to pass up and I knew she could use it someday.

Of course, she was stylin' in her new hot pink converse!

I think she's still half asleep in this picture.

  2. um, I'm sorry, but your daughter is too stinking cute! I had actually never heard of a Montessori schools until fairly recently, but after reading about them, I'm obsessed! Even though it will be a (long) while before I have kids, I'm totally keeping an eye out for Montessori programs!

  5. Hi. I was just looking around your old posts because I know you're friends with Debbie and you both live in my hometown and my parents are still there. I saw this post and saw your daughter's shirt and my mouth dropped open. My sister-in-law's boys go there! I'm thinking maybe your daughter is in my nephew's class. His name is Cooper. That is so cool. Well, your daughter is a cutie and I hope she's been having fun at school!
