OOTD: Pastel Princess

I was so excited to wear my new Sidewalk Chalk Skirt today! I love the soft pastel colors and the lovely floral pattern. It feels very girly but is so comfy at the same time. Unfortunately, it poured the whole morning here; you can't tell but my feet are soaked here. Our parking lot at work fills up like a lake when it rains so I had water to my ankles as I ran to my car.

Shirt: Old Navy
Tank: Target
Skirt: Anthropologie Sidewalk Chalk Skirt
Sandals: Target

Also, I want to say a special thank you to my friend Debbie at Dark Horse for offering to take my shirt back to Anthropologie to get the security tag removed. You are awesome!

P.S. Tomorrow is my 30th birthday! I'm a grown up now. :)

Quick Anthro Reviews & Purchases

Hello all! I just got home from a quick trip to Anthropologie to pick up the Tiny Windows Dress and they had two new items so I thought I'd do a quick review. Sorry for the crappy I-phone pics, I usually bring my Nikon D90 but I wasn't expecting to try on anything.

Blushing Avian Blouse, $98 (size 12)

When I spotted the Blushing Avian Blouse, I knew I had to try it on. I love the color and the cut on the hanger but when I got it on, the fit was kind of strange. You can see that it gaps a little in the front but I didn't need to size up because it was huge in the back. My Mom said it looked like one side was longer than the other in the back, so it didn't feel like it sat very well on my body. This is a pass for me.

On the other hand I loved the Sidewalk Garden Skirt. I love pencil skirts in general and the print on this skirt is lovely. The material is cotton and it has a little stretch to it which is great for me. Plus it has so many colors in it you can wear it with a variety of tops. My Mom loved this one on me so much that she bought it for me for my birthday!

Sidewalk Garden Skirt, $78 (size 12)

I ended up returning my Climbing Cowlneck that I bought over the weekend and bought the Tiny Windows Dress in pink. I know in my review I said that it gaped in the front but I wore a different bra this time and it fit perfect. Yeah! I am planning on wearing this dress to my birthday dinner on Thursday (I'm turning the big 3-0!). My Mom also ended up buying the Sidewalk Garden Skirt for me and the Candied Dots Blouse. (I have a review from this past weekend on this blouse that I will post later this week but I love it!) Also, I just remembered that I forgot to take a picture of my outfit today. Oops!

I do have one complaint about my trip to Anthro today, when I got home and started hanging up my purchases, I realized that they left the security tag on my Candied Dots Blouse. I am so upset because I live 45 minutes away from the closest store and I don't know when I'll get back. I still don't know why it didn't beep when I left the store but I'm really aggravated about it because now I can't wear it! :(

OOTD Catch Up

I had a busy weekend so I didn't get a chance to post my OOTD from Sunday. We just went to lunch and ran errands so I tried to stay as cool and comfy as possible.

Tank, Skirt & Sandals: Target

This is my OOTD for today. I went simple cause I wasn't feeling very creative this morning and you can't go wrong with black & white. Plus, I wanted an excuse to wear my new shoes that I got from Aerosoles on Saturday during our shopping trip. They were already on sale and I got another 25% off! Yeah!

Shirt: Target
Skirt: Express
Shoes: Aerosoles

Anthropologie Reviews

This past Saturday, Debbie and I headed over to our local Anthropologie to scope out the new arrivals and try on some clothes that were on our wishlists. Hope you enjoy the reviews and don't forget to check out Debbie's blog, Dark Horse, for more reviews!

This was my OOTD, I almost didn't post this picture cause my chest looks freakishly huge here and I'm standing all slumped over but this was at the end of the shopping trip and I was tired and hot, so that's my excuse. The top is from Target, the skirt from Anthropologie (via ebay) and the shoes are Born. I'll tell you the purchases that are in that lovely bag later.

Lost Time Skirt, $118 (size 14)
This skirt was the highlight of our trip! We kept trying on things and saying, 'the clock skirt is still my favorite'! We both loved it but the price was just to much so hopefully they will still have it in our sizes come sale time. You can't appreciate all of the detailing on this skirt online, it is a slightly textured fabric and the details on the clocks are all embroidered. The sizing was a little off for us, I had to size up and Debbie had to size down!

Secret Treasure Dress, $118 (size L)
So Debbie and I have been excitedly waiting for this dress to hit our store and sadly we were both disappointed. The sizing was really strange, we were both in between sizes. The XL was to big on me under the arms and in the chest and the L fit under the arms but was way to snug in the chest. (The little buttons kept popping open!) I really wanted to love this dress but it just didn't happen.

Tiny Windows Dress, $118 (size 14)
Last time we went to Anthro, I tried on this dress in the 12 and it wouldn't even button so this time around, I sized up to the 14 hoping it would work cause I was planning on buying this dress for myself for my upcoming birthday. Alas, my size 36DD chest was not made for this dress, the buttons were still gaping a little on the 14. I was so disappointed! Otherwise, I love everything about this dress and the color is amazing.

Obscured Flora Dress, $128 (size L)
I will admit that online, I totally overlooked this dress but when I saw it in the store I had to try it on. I will say that I loved it and added to my wishlist. The cut is very flattering and the material is nice and cool for the hot weather. Plus, it has pockets! Love! Can't wait for this to go on sale.

Two-Wheeler Shirtdress, $128 (size 12)
As you can probably tell from the picture, this dress runs huge! I normally wear a size 12 and it was hanging off of me. I would probably need a 10 or even an 8 in this but our store didn't have those sizes. (Debbie said when she tried it on she had to size down 2 sizes too.) I was excited about this dress too and though it is adorable, I would really need the correct size to really give it two thumbs up.

Shifting Feathers Dress, $98 (size L)
This dress is lovely, the material is sooooo soft and the colors are dreamy. I kinda wish I had bought it now but I will try to wait for sale time. I tried on a large but I would need to size down to a medium because it was kinda big under the arm area. I highly recommend this item!!!

Perilla Dress, $128 (size L)
I tried on this dress in the navy because beige looks awful on me and I love anything navy. The dress was really comfortable and I thought it was flattering (but low cut) but I'm not so crazy about the horizontal stripes on me. For a teeny tiny woman, I could see it working but not for me. I wishlisted it for a sale as a maybe.

Traced Twirls Dress, $158 (size 12)
One word describes this dress: perfect! I wasn't even going to try this on when one of the SA's pointed it out to me and I thought I'd give it a try. I am so glad I did because it is magical. I can see now why everyone in the Anthro community has been lusting over it. The fit was amazing and I couldn't stop twirling around in the dressing room. This dress makes you want to dance. Debbie and I were calling it the 'Cha Cha' dress, like the one Cha Cha wears in Grease for the dance competition. I so wish I could have bought this on the spot but I will patiently wait for a sale and cross my fingers that I can figure out somewhere to wear it!

I would love to hear your feedback and if you own any of these items. I will have some more reviews for you later in the week from our trip. Oh, I ended up buying the Climbing Cowlneck in pink, the Unscripted Scoopneck in blue, the At First Sight Jacket and the Miss to Ms. Posts in silver (sold out online).

Clock Skirt Debuts!

The much buzzed about clock skirt has made its debut on the Anthro site!! Also, I MUST have this adorable tank with mirrors all over it and at only $58!! Wow! Anthro is trying to kill me with all it's quirky, cuteness.

OOTD: I Got Stripes

My shirt is a reflection my very 'green' day that I had: this morning a 'green' frog jumped out of my garbage disposal and almost give me a heart attack, then I sat at the traffic light to make a left turn and the freakin' arrow never turned 'green', I sat through three light rotations before I gave up and made my way back into traffic, plus it's payday so I've got some 'green' in my bank account.

Debbie (Dark Horse) and I are making a trip to Anthropologie tomorrow so all of the green I just put in the bank will probably be gone! So hopefully we will have some reviews for you tomorrow or Sunday. I hope our store has some of the new pretties that just popped up online. Does anyone know what day of the week the stores get their shipments?

Anthropologie New Arrivals

I'm sure by now you've all seen the new arrivals on the Anthropologie site today. Here is my absolute favorite new arrival (so far):

Sugar & Cream Dress, $158.00

Is it not perfection? The adorable tea cup print, the beautiful color of purple and to top it off, that amazing bow on the back. This beauty was wishlisted as fast as I could type. Now, if only I had a place to wear this! What are your new favorites?

OOTD: Pretty Little Buttons

I waited sooooo long for this cardigan to go on sale and I was devastated when I saw that the website sold out of my size months ago. So I tried my luck the day it went on sale and called my local store (where I had seen a stack of them weeks ago) as soon as they opened. As you can see, they had my size and they shipped it to me pronto! It was well worth the wait for this baby! Oh, and it is like 95 degrees here in Florida but I just had to wear it anyway, I am willing to suffer for the cuteness! Sorry that my clothes are also so wrinkly in my pics, I do these when I get home so I've been sitting in them for hours already. I am just never ready early enough in the morning to take a picture. I'm sure other mommies (and non-mommies) can relate!

OOTD: Grey Gardens

I think my title is misleading, I wish there was a lovely, colorful garden in the background of this picture but alas, it's just my living room. I just couldn't think of a clever title today. (I guess my chair does have flowers on it though!) I like this grey shirt from Tulle, it's lightweight and it has pockets, even though you can't see them here and it has that adorable bow. My cardi needs no explanation, it's polka dots and therefore adorable in my book.

Shirt: Tulle
Cardigan: Old Navy

I just wanted to throw in this picture of Sydney and her Daddy on Father's Day. I was asking her to point to Daddy's nose. How cute are they??

OOTD: Safari Sara

This shirt dress is a recent purchase from the magical land of Target. It really is comfy and cool for summer. They had it in this khaki color and purple and black. I saw a lot of potential for styling with the khaki color plus I had a 20% off coupon so I scooped it up. These leopard print peep toes have a very small wedge heel which I love. I actually got them last year but forgot I had them in my closet. I love it when you can shop for new things in your own closet!

Anthro Sales!!!

Just quick post this morning to be sure to check out Effortless Anthropologie for the HUGE list of Anthropologie sale items. There are a few things that were on my wish list but I think I may wait until I visit my local store this weekend to pick anything up. What are you splurging on today?

Flickr Fashion Inspiration: Polka Dots

For as long as I can remember, I have always had a love for polka dots in any way, shape or form. I am loving how these ladies styled their polka dots!

OOTD: True Blue

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great Father's Day weekend. As you can see I was in an all blue mood today. I love the color of this dress, it's so rich and saturated. I am also just noticing that the lighting in this pic is making my legs look scary white! Yikes! It has been so dreary here in FL the last few days, everyday it has rained or thundered at some point. I thought I lived in the Sunshine State. The calendar says it the first day of summer but it's felt like summer here for 2 months. Hope the weather is better where you are today.

OOTD: Blue Jean Baby

I'll give you one guess as to where every piece of my outfit is from today. Drumroll......Target! If you haven't noticed I have a close and personal relationship with Target seeing as how I give it half of my paycheck each week. I went in there last night for milk and some finger paint for Sydney and spent $80! How does that happen? At least everything else I got was on clearance but that doesn't matter when it adds up to $80 does it? Oh well, damage done.
Top, Capri's & Shoes: Target
I think these shoes are just adorable. I stalked them last year to go on sale and I think I ended up getting them for $10.00.

Same Item, Different Stores

So the fabulous Kendi blogged about this skirt yesterday and let the mobs know that they could get it at Modcloth for $24.99. Of course, like 30 minutes later they were sold out. Well I happen to remember today that this skirt is also sold on Ruche's website for the same price of $24.99. But they are sold out of every size but Large. Then I remembered it was made by Tulle and visited their website and they have the same skirt on sale for $15.00!!! Score! It's available is all sizes except XS. So if you missed out the first round you got lucky and can now save $10.00. See sometimes it pays to procrastinate.

OOTD: Think Green

I think I scored this top from Tulle on super sale for like $4.00 about a year ago. I really like the tiny floral print but the back of the shirt is a racer back so I always have to wear it with a cardigan. (Seriously, who thought it was a good idea to make any women's top a racer back?) I just got this navy skirt on eBay about a week ago for $3.50. I had been looking everywhere for a simple navy skirt when this appeared and my problem was solved. (Sorry it's all wrinkly!)

On a side note, I think I am getting addicted to eBay. I have the app for my phone and I check it waaaaaay to often. But sometimes it can be ridiculous, I was bidding on an Anthropologie Cartography Cardigan (L) a few days ago and it ended up selling for $168!! I don't think I'll ever need a cardigan that bad and if I feel that I do, someone get me professional help.

This week in Mommyland....

So in our house we have 3 dogs: Penny Lane, Rita and Ringo Starr. (Yes, they are named after Beatles references.) Sydney and the dogs get along great. They've never bit her or tried to hurt her in any way. She lights up when she sees them in the morning and when they misbehave, she calls them 'bad dog' in a very strict and serious voice. She has recently discovered that she likes to play in their dog food and I caught her trying to get a taste a few days ago.

So I knew it would be inevitable that this would happen at some point: she picked up dog poop this week! I didn't know whether to scream in disgust, laugh or grab my camera for the memory. (I went with a combo of screaming, yucky, and then laughing.) I'm just glad she didn't put it in her mouth. Nuff said.

OOTD: Target Love

Since about 80% of my outfit today is Target, I felt the title was appropriate. We all know that Target emits some sort of toxin in the air that makes you want to buy things and I think I am exposed to it frequently since there is a Target pretty much right across the road from my house. (This is a very good and very bad thing at the same time.) I really like the pattern and vibrant colors in this skirt for summertime and these sandals are so easy and comfortable.

Shopping with Glee

Be sure to check out Effortless Anthropologie for mine and my friend Debbie's (of Dark Horse) guest post about shopping with characters from Glee! Thanks to Roxy for including us, we had such a fun time with this project!

Copycat: Piperlime vs. Kohl's

I have seen many blogger lusting after these Seychelles, Get Outta Town flats so I was excited when I stumbled upon this copycat version from Kohl's. I'm sure that the quality is different and I know that the Seychelles version comes in different colors but they look identical to me. Plus you can save $45! Can't beat that. I may have to order me a pair of these or pay a visit to my nearest Kohl's soon.

OOTD: Dot to Dot

I am looking up in this picture because I am thanking whatever is up there for letting my child nap this afternoon. Yeah!! I love this top from Anthropologie because I love anything that involves polka dots. I really don't like these shoes very much (they're uncomfortable so I spent 95% of my day at work barefoot), but I can't seem to find any cute red sandals for summer.
Any suggestions?

OOTD: Purple Haze

Sorry for the somewhat crappy quality of these pics, I tried a different angle in the house and there wasn't quite enough light. (Even though you would assume there was with me standing next to a glass door and all, go figure.) I am not trying to be mysterious by looking away in this pic, I had just had a few fillings done at the dentist and my face was swollen on one side from being numb so when I smiled I looked like the joker. (Seriously.) So now you get to see the 'I'm to cool to look at the camera' pose today.
Dress: Target
Cardigan: Steinmart
Belt: American Eagle
Shoes: Madden Girl via TJ Maxx
How adorable are these shoes? A friend called them 'show shoes' today, as in I should be tapping in these babies on the stage. Also, Sydney was fascinated by the little ruffles on them, she kept touching them and saying something that I am going to assume means pretty.

OOTD: It's a Plaid, Plaid World

The Hubby and I had a date today, which for us involves lunch and a movie (Get Him to the Greek, pretty funny). This tunic popped back up on my wish list on Anthropologie the other day so I scooped it up cause I'd been staring at it for a few weeks wishing I had gotten it. Plus, so many other bloggers were making it look adorable, so I caved. I'm glad I did, it was super comfy and cool for the hot weather here in Florida. Plus I can totally see wearing it tucked into a cute skirt or with a sweater in the winter. On a side note, I hate showing my upper arms so I made a sacrifice in the name of fashion today by revealing them to you. I know you feel special now.
Tunic: Anthropologie Caricaturist Tunic

Sandals: Born via Bealls
These sandals are definitely one of my favorite pairs, they go with everything and are comfortable to walk in all day. I also didn't notice that dragonfly chillin' on my foot when I took the picture. I think he's cute, I'm calling him Blue.

OOTD: Pretty Paisley

Today we met some friends for a wonderful lunch at one of our favorite local restaurants. The only downside was that it was about 95 degrees and our party was so big that there was no room inside so we had to sit outdoors. Yikes! Thank goodness they had ceiling fans and we were on the water so there was a slight breeze but I still felt like my face was melting like that Nazi dude on Indiana Jones (you know, when he opens the Ark of the Covenant). Anywho, lunch was great and the company was even better so it was worth it. Luckily, I took this picture before we left.

I so love this dress from Target, it is the perfect summer dress. Cool, comfy and casual. I wish they had it in a million colors cause I would've bought more of them.
