Working Moma: Rainy Day

Happy Monday friends! It has been raining all day here in FL, that is why I don't have any shoes on (waterlogged sandals!) and why I am looking down (horrid rainy day hair!). Can I just say that I love this shirtdress but it turns into a wrinkled mess as soon as you sit down in it! But it is super comfy so I will deal with it, I mean, I do work at a school so I'm lucky I'm not covered in all things yucky by the end of the day.

Dress: Target
Cardigan: Kohl's

P.S. Please ignore the scary sandal tan marks on my feet!
We went to the zoo last weekend and I never remember to put sunscreen there.

We're off to see the Wizard....

I am loving these adorable Wizard of Oz items from Etsy. I have been obsessed with all things Wizard of Oz since I was tiny; I think I was Dorothy for Halloween for like 4 straight years.

Working Moma: Wrap it Up

Just a quick OOTD! I love the print on this Anthro dress but it's a bit big on me so I always have to wear a sweater over it. It just feels so cheerful and happy! Hope everyone is having a great week!

This week in Mommyland....

Sydney is obsessed with swinging. When I pick her up from school in the afternoon she is always in a swing and when I tell it's time to go home, she tells me, 'no'. I basically have to drag her out there each afternoon. These pictures were from the school's family picnic this past Saturday. She wouldn't even get out of the swing to eat lunch! She cried when we tried to get her to eat and ran back to the swing. The wierdest thing about it is that she HATED her swing when she was a baby, she never would use it! Now we are looking into buying her a swingset/playset for Christmas. I just wish 'Santa' would pay the bill for one!

Working Moma: Bows & Dots

These outfits are from last week that I never got around to posting. In the first one you will see my old hair color and in the second one you can see my new hair color. It's a dark brown red color that will fade gradually. It's a little darker than I'm used to so I'm still getting used to it!

When Debbie and I went to Anthro last weekend, I was so excited to find one Circle the Globe skirt left at our store and it happened to be in my size. My lucky day indeed!!

Top: Old Navy
Skirt: Anthropologie Circle the Globe Skirt (black)
Sandals: Aerosoles

Dress: Kohl's
Cardigan: Target
Sandals: Clarks

I Dot You Babe Tights, Modcloth

Pony Prix Tights, Anthropologie

I am loving these printed, fun tights!

Photo Challenge...

I decided to enter this photo of Sydney in The Paper Mama's photo challenge. This week's theme is 'fingerprint' and this is the first time I have ever entered. This picture is from when Syd was about 10 months old and it's still one of my favorites.

More from the Anthro trip.....

Here is my OOTD from shopping with Debbie at Anthro this past Sunday. I got this navy skirt from land's End Canvas a few weeks ago (it reminded me of the Alena skirt from Anthro) and I love it. Great quality and very comfortable! I have actually ordered a few more things that are on their way, hopefully they will be just as cute.

Tank Top: Old Navy
Cardigan: Target
Navy Skirt: Land's End Canvas
Belt: Ross

Debbie and I both tried on the Kindred Spirit Sweaterdress on our shopping trip. Pro's are that the color is really cute, the material is light enough for Florida weather, very comfy and I thought it was flattering on both of our body types. Con's were that it is really thin (you can see my white cami through it) and the $138 price tag. Wishlisted for sale time!

We all know that Anthro's displays are always so creative and adorable so I snapped these pics of some of the cute decor at our store in Jacksonville. Love the cupcake liners hammered onto a piece of wood. Also, on the front side of the shelving on the same display, they had put chalkboard paint so you could label what was on the shelves. (I didn't get this in the picture but it was super cute!)

Also, these salt and pepper shakers are adorable on their own but sitting on top of embroidered paper cups makes them even cuter!

Anthropologie & Glee: Back to School

A few months ago Debbie and I got to do a guest post for Roxy at Effortless Anthropologie after Debbie had the idea of creating outfits based on the styles of our favorite Glee characters using Anthropologie clothes (check out that post here). Since Season 2 of Glee is about to premiere on September 21st, we thought it would be fun to do a Back to School, Fall edition. Checks out Debbie's looks here. We had so much fun doing this and we hope you enjoy it too!

First up is my look for the fabulous Emma, she is the easiest to style because just about everything at Anthro looks like something she would wear. I chose the adorable Ruffled Plaid Dress because it screamed 'Emma' to me, the plaid, the ruffles, the belt and the floral detail fit her perfectly. I paired it with the green Dimpled Cardigan.

Next up is Quinn, who always seems to be dressed in very girly, soft and pretty colors. I chose the First Falling Blouse, Buoyant Bunches Cardigan and the Pilcro Cohort Corduroys. I personally ended up loving this outfit and added all of it to my wishlist!

On to the preppy, overachiever with a touch of quirky, Rachel. I ended up going with the Slanted Plaid Blouse and the Finishing School Skirt. I could also see Rachel rocking some knee socks and oxfords with this look.

Lastly, we have Mercedes, who was very difficult to shop for at Anthropologie since she has more of the urban, hip-hop look most of the time. I have seen her sport some military-esque looks in the past so I went with the Soldierly Sparkle Top and the Cadre Noir Leggings.

Also, I have to add in a funny story from when Debbie and I were shopping. When Debbie went to try on the Stretch Cord Leggings in Tina's look, she started freaking out because it had a fake zipper and button on them and she was like, 'how do I get in these things!?' Then we realized they were leggings and it all made sense. We ended up getting a good laugh out of it though!!

Weekend Moma: Falling Flowers

It is a zillion degrees here today! I was slowly melting as I was taking these pics. I so wish Fall would show up around here soon. As much as I love sundresses and sandals, I am ready for jeans and boots! Looking at these pics, I'm thinking this cardi may be little heavy for this sundress but it's the only one I have the matches that's clean. I forgot I even had this dress in my closet which is a shame because it's so comfy and light.

Dress: Ross
Cardigan: Target
Sandals: KMart

Also, Debbie and I are headed to Anthropologie tomorrow, so I should have some reviews and a surprise for you this week. Have a great weekend!

This week in Mommyland....

The last few days have been a little stressful in Mommyland. On Tuesday, when I got Syd home from school, I noticed that when I sat her down she wouldn't move and started crying. At first I thought she was just cranky or tired but then I noticed that her left upper leg and knee area was swollen and she wouldn't put any weight on it. Now this happened once before about 6 months ago when she was learning to walk and we never did figure out what happened but the doctor said it was probably an injury (we didn't know of any) or post virus swelling (she had been sick). So for it to happen again on the same leg was worrisome to say the least. (I should also mention that on her left leg she has a large hemangioma birthmark which we have seen several doctors about already.) So we called our pediatrician and he said to give it the night and then come in the next day if the swelling hadn't gone down. So we ended up taking her to the doctor yesterday and he didn't know what was going on so he made a few calls and then set up for her to have some bloodwork done (not fun at all!). He referred us to an orthopedic doctor (which we've seen before) so that's where we were this morning. She had to get x-rays (no fun again!) and he gave us the results of the blood tests. So we ended up ruling out a few things but we still have no answers so we are set up to see a pediatric surgeon at the end of the month and go from there. The good news is that her leg is better today and she is walking normal again but having no reason/cause for the swelling in the first place is frustrating! So needless to say, the last few days have been crazy and stressful around here. I guess all we can do now is wait.

OOTD: Girl's Night & Shopping

I wore this ensemble to Girl's Night on Friday. We tried a new restaurant in town named kelley's and it was delicious. They had the best bruschetta I've ever had!

Dress: Liberty of London for Target
Cardigan: Target
Belt: American Eagle
Sandals: Born

I wore this on Saturday when me, my Mom and Sydney spent the day shopping. I got these 'jeggings' at Kohl's a few weeks ago and this was the first time I had worn them. I think they will quickly become my favorite pair of pants, they were so comfortable! You know how with some stretchy pants, by the end of the day your rear end is sagging; well not with these babies!

Top & Tank: Target
Jeggings: Nine West via Kohl's
Sandals: Clarks

This week in Mommyland....

My cute little munchkin is 18 months old today! Time is seriously flying by lately. It seems like we just celebrated her 1st birthday and now she's half way to 2! Also, does my kid have some crazy hair or what? How do you mommies deal with those baby hairs flying around everywhere?

OOTD: Bon Voyage

No, I'm not lucky enough be headed on a trip to somewhere magical but my skirt is a travel enthusiast. I scored this adorable Boden skirt on ebay and it's even cuter in person. I love clothing with whimsical prints!

Top: Target
Skirt: Boden (via ebay)
Sandals: Clarks

Also, how amazing was the Anthro sale this morning? I ordered the Scribbled Bouquet Cardigan (which I've had my eye on forever!) and the Simply Sketched Pants. There are many more items I would've loved but they are sold out in my size online and I'm not headed to Anthro until next weekend so I'm sure they'll all be gone by then. What did you ladies purchase??
